Mass Effect Andromeda brings with it a host of new things to excite. Its story takes place in a brand new galaxy aboard a brand new ship. It's up to everyone who plays the game to create their own Pathfinder and equip it with the best skills and gear for their fighting style. As an RPG, it's also up to players to attempt to woo their teammates. When exploration gets boring, a Mass Effect Andromeda romance is always an option.

The Mass Effect Andromeda romance system is based on previous romance systems in games published by Bioware. Andromeda is designed to be a primarily realistic space travel simulation. You are hundreds of years from the Milky Way. You'll spend a lot of time exploring worlds that humans and the Andromeda Initiative could barely explore before. The Helios cluster is full of dangers that could finish off the colonists in no time. When you're not desperately trying to deal with it all, you have free time. It is during this downtime that you will be able to meet the crew of the Tempest. By using the romance system, you may even fall in love with some of them.

Use this guide to navigate the Mass Effect Andromeda romance system.

There are some complexities involved that anyone new to the Mass Effect franchise might not know. Even those who have played Bioware's most recent RPG, Dragon Age Inquisition, might find themselves a bit confused. Here is a guide for Mass Effect Andromeda romance.

Mass Effect Andromeda Romance Guide: The Basics

Before you are allowed to begin Andromeda Story you are being asked to make a very important decision. The game tells the story of the Ryder family. Elder Ryder is a seasoned warrior and tasked with ensuring that the species on the Ark Hyperion spaceship stay alive. The youngest members of the Ryder family are twins. You choose which of them you want to be and start the game. This choice determines who you can partner with.

To seduce a member of the Tempest crew, you just need to find them on the ship. The things they say and your responses determine how successful you are in seducing them. In the message wheel, a heart always signifies romance.

Each path to romance is different for each member of the crew. Some crew members are bisexual and may be romanticized by either of the Ryder twins. To be clear, there are members outside of the crew who can be romanticized as well. Others are only sensitive to the advances of the opposite twin of their sex.

You will have to do everything possible to talk to the crew member you are trying to seduce. It is also important to read all the emails they send to you. Finally, you'll want to complete that character's Loyalty Mission. The Mass Effect Andromeda romance system has both exclusive relationships and open relationships.

Avela Kjar is not part of Team Tempest. Players can start an informal relationship with her on planet Aya as she gives them quests.

Mass Effect Andromeda Romance Guide: Liam

Liam needs to be flirted by the Ryder woman at every opportunity in the cargo hold of the Tempest. Romancing Liam won't stop you from romancing other characters before you complete his Loyalty Mission, according to VG247 .

Mass Effect Andromeda Romance Guide: Jaal

The rider will have to constantly flirt with Jaal to interest him. It's near the research station on the Tempest. You will need to have fulfilled his fidelity mission for the relationship to last.

Mass Effect Andromeda Romance Guide: Follow-up

Suvi sits on the bridge and is open to a closed relationship. Players just have to keep flirting with her. Find her email to confirm that she is also attracted to you.

Mass Effect Andromeda Romance Guide: Peebee

You'll need to flirt and complete some personal missions before Peebee becomes a full romance option. It is available in the cargo hold and the escape pod near the bridge. You can decide to have a casual relationship with Peebee or turn her down for full romance later. You will have to choose one or the other because you cannot have both.

Mass Effect Andromeda Romance Guide: Vetra

Every time you meet Vetra, you should try to flirt with her. Once recruited, she can be found in a storage room near Caro du Tempest Bay. This romance is locked behind the main plot, which means you'll have to advance the story and complete its Loyalty Mission. Vetra only offers a full relationship.

Romance Guide to Mass Effect Andromeda: Keri

Keri is a journalist who emails whenever she has an interview slot to fill. Players who attempt to flirt with her after interviews have a chance to score a unique relationship.

Mass Effect Andromeda Romance Guide: Reyes Vidal

Reyes Vidal offers both a relaxed and complete relationship, but can be difficult to find. The only way to meet the character is to turn down a deal with Sloane Kelly. You will have to flirt with him at every opportunity. It is both a full romance and a laid back romance option.

Good luck in Mass Effect Andromeda. As the game is quite large, expect more characters and details to appear as players get their hands on the new RPG and start experimenting.
