With over a billion users, TikTok is an incredible platform to connect with audiences. But why stop there? If your videos are gaining fans on TikTok, you can also share them as Instagram reels or post them as part of your social media marketing strategy.

When you download a video from TikTok, you will notice that it includes a watermark. This can be especially annoying if it covers a significant portion of the video. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to remove a TikTok watermark!

We promise that no fancy TikTok video editing skills are required.

What is a TikTok watermark?

A TikTok watermark is a graphic that overlays on top of the video. The purpose of a watermark is to make the origin of the media obvious, so that you cannot repost it without attribution.

TikTok includes a watermark with their logo along with the username from the original poster, as you can see:

Let's stop for a second and say that you shouldn't post another user's content without attribution! Content theft is unethical and can quickly escalate into a social media crisis. The tips below are for content creators who want to share their own TikTok posts.

TikTok adds a bouncing watermark, which will move around as the video plays. This can present an additional challenge when trying to remove it.

How to Remove TikTok Watermark on iOS and Android: 4 Methods

Whether you use iOS or Android, there are four basic methods to remove a watermark:

  1. Crop it from video
  2. Use an app to remove the watermark
  3. Use a video editing tool to remove it
  4. Save your video without watermark in the first place

Crop it from video

Cropping the video is the easiest approach. However, this will change the aspect ratio of the video. If you want to share it on another platform that uses the same video size specifications as TikTok, it will leave a black margin around the content.

Cropping also doesn't work for all videos, because you might end up cutting your head off. If there are important video elements near the edges of your video, you will need a different approach.

Use an app to remove it

A number of video editing tools exist only to remove TikTok watermarks on iOS and Android. These will import the video and completely bypass the watermark.

Use a video editing tool to remove it

You can also use a video editing tool, which will replace the watermark with pixels from the surrounding area. You can also use a video to add a graphic above the watermark.

Save your video without watermark first (best option!)

There is a fourth option, which is to dodge the watermark altogether.

Below, we'll go into more detail about the four methods and how they work on different devices.

How to Remove TikTok Watermark on iPhone

It's quick and easy to remove a TikTok watermark on your iPhone. Whichever method you choose, you'll need to start by uploading your video.

  1. Tap the share icon (the dipping arrow under "Like" and "Comment"
  2. You will see a row of TikTok accounts and a row of apps you can share with. Below, in the third row, you will see "Record Video".
  3. Tap it to save the video to your phone.

Crop video to remove TikTok watermark

As mentioned above, cropping the video is the easiest approach. If you don't mind the changed aspect ratio and the subject of your video is centered, this will work.

  1. Start by opening the video in your Photos app.
  2. Select "Edit" in the top right corner, then tap the "Crop" icon in the row of options that appears at the bottom.
  3. Pinch and zoom to change the dimensions of the video, cropping the watermark. Since the watermark bounces, you will need to crop more than one area of your video.
  4. Tap "Done" to save your work.

Once you've cropped your video, play it back to verify that it worked. If not, it's time to try something else.

Use a TikTok watermark remover app

If you search for “remove TikTok watermark” in the Apple Store, you will find many apps designed for this purpose. As they say, necessity is the mother of invention!

In fact, the number of options can be overwhelming. SaveTok, SaveTik, Saver Tok, TokSaver, TikSaver—it can be hard to tell them apart! So how to choose one?

Well, before we dive in, know that none of these apps are affiliated with TikTok. All of them are unauthorized tools designed to bypass the watermarking process. So they could stop working one day if TikTok changes their API.

First of all, not all of these apps will remove the watermark. Some, like TokSaver, are designed to keep a saved collection of TikToks without a watermark, without downloading them to your phone.

Second, read the reviews carefully! As TikTok's user base grows, more companies are springing up to capitalize on content creators trying to make it big – a perfect storm for scammers making false promises . While every app we reviewed had at least a four-star rating, reviews told a different story:

app review pointing to overpriced subscription and fake reviews

Finally, although most of these apps are free to download, they will bombard you with ads or require payment to use. Most offer weekly, monthly or yearly subscriptions. These range in price from around US$5 to US$20 per month, although some cost less than a dollar per week if you purchase an annual subscription in advance.

If you frequently need to remove TikTok watermarks quickly and easily, a subscription might be worth the investment! Many, like TikSave, also offer a free trial period if you want to test them out first.

Apps that can remove TikTok watermarks also come with other features, such as scheduling and sharing features. Depending on your needs, these can justify the price.

Alright, enough disclaimers! It's time to try an editing app. Fortunately, they all work the same way. We tried SaverTok because it offers a free version.

  1. Download your app from the App Store.
  2. Open the app. It may prompt you to purchase a free subscription or trial.
  3. Add a video. To do this, open TikTok and find the video you want to download without watermark. Tap “Share,” then “Copy Link.”
  4. Open your watermark remover app again. It will automatically import the video. From there, you can download it without the watermark by tapping the "Save" icon.
  5. Your app may also allow you to edit the caption, add hashtags, and schedule it to post to your TikTok account.

Use a video editing app to remove the watermark

This is the more complicated approach, and not the one I would recommend when you could just record a video without the watermark in the first place. But we give you all the options!

First, search the app store for a watermark removal tool. The caveats above apply: most "free" tools will bombard you with annoying ads or require in-app purchases to work. And the quality varies, so read the reviews and give it a free trial before committing!

From there, the App Store is your oyster. We tried Video Eraser.
  1. Import your TikTok video from Camera Roll.
  2. Select "Remove Watermark" from the menu options.
  3. Pinch and drag to highlight the area with the watermark. Most of these tools will only allow you to remove one watermark at a time. Because the TikTok watermark bounces, you'll need to do it in stages.
  4. Save your video. Then open the edited video and select the area for the second watermark.
  5. Save it again. Next, export the edited TikTok video to your camera roll.

Take a moment to review your work. Since these apps work by replacing the pixels in the watermark with other pixels in the video, there will be a blurry effect where the watermark previously appeared. This may not be easy, especially if you have a solid background. In our example below, it's quite subtle. But check the appearance and quality before downloading!

How to download a TikTok without the watermark (or remove the watermark online)

What if I told you that you can save your TikTok without a watermark, without visiting the App Store or Google Play? Who am I, some kind of magician?

It turns out that there are a number of websites that can download TikToks without a watermark, such as MusicalDown.com or (confusingly) MusicalDown.xyz, formerly known as MusicallyDown. Other websites, like SnapTik, TikFast, and TikMate, work the same way.

Some of them, like SnapTik, can also be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. But if you don't want to add new apps to your phone, a website comes in handy!

Also, just like the apps mentioned above, these websites are not affiliated with TikTok in any way. This means that they could eventually stop working if TikTok makes changes to their app.

They all work the same way. Here's how to download a TikTok without a watermark:

  1. Find the TikTok you want to download in the app.
  2. Press “Share” then “Copy link”.
  3. Open your iPhone's web browser and navigate to the online tool.
  4. Paste the copied URL into the field.
  5. When the video is finished processing, tap "Download" to save it in MP4 format.
  6. Some tools may offer the "Watermark" or "No Watermark" option. Hope you can find one by yourself!

Unlike iOS and Android apps, these websites will also work on desktop. You'll use the same process above to upload your TikTok, without the watermark!

Best TikTok Watermark Removers

The best TikTok watermark remover is the one that works for you!

However, tools that allow you to download a video directly from TikTok without a watermark are the best for preserving quality. This includes the websites and apps mentioned above, which completely bypass the TikTok watermarking process when saving your video.

Video editing tools will add a blurry effect on the watermark, which can be distracting. And cropping the video will change the aspect ratio and may crop important parts of the video.

There are many apps and websites that allow you to bypass the TikTok watermark, by saving a clean version of the video. However, most apps will ask you to pay if you want to export or publish your new video, while websites are free. So I have a thing for websites, and for purely aesthetic reasons, I preferred MusicallyDown.XYZ.

But if you want to take advantage of other features offered by apps like SaverTok or RepostTik, like hashtag libraries and caption editors, then a paid subscription might be right for you!

Each of these methods will help you download and share TikTok content without watermark on other social media platforms. Happy posting!
