"No one is happier than me about this" Venus Williams delighted with Tom Brady's retirement reversal

Venus Williams couldn't hide her excitement after NFL legend Tom Brady flip-flopped on his retirement. Just a month after retiring, Tom Brady made a dramatic turnaround when he announced his return to the NFL. Longtime fan, Venus was clearly thrilled with Brady's decision to make a comeback. She took to Instagram to express her joy.

"No one is happier than me about this," she captioned.

After weeks of denial that he will not return, Brady has made a U-turn and is now returning for his 23rd season, just 6 weeks after ending his illustrious career. The five-time Super Bowl MVP shared a message on his official Twitter account saying he's been considering his decision for the past two months and is now back on "unfinished business."

Venus, who recently made an appearance on the 'Keep Going Podcast', expressed his admiration for the NFL great and hailed his accomplishments saying the consistency with which he played at the top level was second to none. It was therefore not surprising to see the visible pleasure of Venus on Brady's U-turn on his retirement.

"  I can't tell you how big a fan I am. I can't watch the game, his games are a little too nervous. So we have some of the same team members and I'm just like I'm a huge fan and I don't know whether to tell him or not, but just a huge fan and I respect what he's done so much. she said in a previous interview.

Venus Williams hasn't played a match in 6 months

As for Venus, her return to action is still unclear. Her last match was at the 2021 WTA Chicago Fall Tennis Classic in August, during which she suffered a second-round exit against Su Wei Hsieh. As a result, she dropped in the rankings and is now ranked 1421st. Williams had to pull out of the Australian Open this year and said she is still recovering from her injury. However, Venus has proclaimed that she is committed to making a comeback, but hasn't specified a timeline yet.

“More than anything, I am, guess what I am preparing to resume the tour. I can't wait,"  she said in an Instagram Q&A last month, but has yet to give an update on that.

'I live for the day,' Serena Williams makes shocking statement on her retirement

The world is still reeling from world No. 1 at Ash Barty 's retirement news. The Australian announced on March 23 that she would retire from tennis at the age of 25. Barty is a three-time Grand Slam champion and won the Australian Open just two months ago. She was the best player among the current one-mile lot and was just one US Open title away from completing her career slam.

Many compare Barty's early retirement to that of Serena Williams and Roger Federer. Both Serena and Federer are in their 40s and still haven't retired. They are currently considering another midlife comeback.

After Barty retired, Serena was naturally asked when she would be hanging up her boots. The 23-time Grand Slam champion said every player thinks of retirement 5 years after playing tennis given the intensity of the sport. She said she doesn't know when she will retire and is currently living for the day.

“I think every tennis player thinks of the R word [retirement] as soon as they hit five years old because tennis is so intense, it's literally 11 months out of the year. But I do not know. I live for the day and I always tell people, 'I don't plan for tomorrow, only in business, and when it comes to tennis, I just plan for today'” Serena said.

At Indian property four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka was heckled by the crowd last week, after which she was in tears. Serena, who faced the same thing herself 2 decades ago, addressed the issue. Serena was heckled by the California crowd in 2001 and boycotted the tournament for 14 years until her return in 2015.

“It was my whole life, trying to prove to people that I was better than that [their meanness],” she says. “And that's what I'm doing now in a different way. I love proving that athletes can shoot and have amazing careers.

The former Defensive Player of the Year said , “I have nothing but respect for him for standing up for his wife. I think he could have handled it better, I think we can all handle things better. I'm not canceling Smith, I'm not quitting Will Smith because he slapped someone.

“The reality is that we all make mistakes and we live in this world where everyone wants to punish others for their mistakes but they want grace when they have their own mistakes. »

That being said, Smith issued an apology to Chris Rock and the Academy for his behavior after the event. He was praised by Green for not succumbing to peer pressure and later apologizing on stage.

“I really respected him apologizing that night and not apologizing to Chris Rock and the reason for that was that he hadn't even had time to really understand what was going on and go out there and apologize to Chris Rock right away because that's what people wanted to hear, I don't ride like that, I disagree 100%.”

He concluded by stating that he does not support any form of violence and said: "  No I don't 100% condone violence, I don't 100% condone Will Smith going up there but I feel at 100% where will smith come from because as a protector, as a provider, as a rock to your wife, as someone she turns to when things go wrong, you're stuck, isn't it not? »
