Marvel fans and critics have been expecting a lot from Black Panther 2 ever since the first movie was released. Black Panther tops many Marvel Cinematic Universe best movie lists, and it's the only MCU movie to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. So there's a lot of hype surrounding Black Panther sequel, but Angela Bassett assures that it will live up to expectations.

Angela Bassett reprises her role as Ramonda in 'Black Panther 2'

Black Panther 2 will feature many of the same cast from the first film, including Angela Bassett as Ramonda. Bassett's character is the mother of T'Challa and Shuri and the queen mother of Wakanda.

In the first film, she served as an advisor and guide to T'Challa as he ascended the throne after his father's death in Captain America: Civil War . It's unclear what Ramonda's role will be in the sequel.

Little is known about Black Panther 2 , even though it's coming out later this year. The cast includes Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Winston Duke as M'Baku, and Angela Bassett as Ramonda. And Dominique Thorne makes her MCU debut as Riri Williams/Ironheart.

After Chadwick Boseman's death, it's reported that Shuri will have a bigger role in the sequel than she did in Black Panther . Many fans believe that Shuri will take on the role of Black Panther in the upcoming film.

Angela Bassett says 'Black Panther 2' is 'amazing'

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Angela Bassett teased what she could about Black Panther 2 .

When DeGeneres asked if Bassett could tell her anything about the sequel, the actor replied, "Not a single thing. There will be a Black Panther 2 [in] November. Look for it in November. And it will be amazing. Our director Ryan Coogler, writer/director, perfect leader. It's gonna be amazing. it's going great [ Black Panther ]. Can I say that? Wonderful, can I say that?

To say that Black Panther 2 will be better than the first movie is high praise. But given the cast and crew behind the project, fans won't be surprised if the sequel is even more successful than Black Panther .

How will the sequel go without Chadwick Boseman?

Black Panther 2 went through a lot of rewrites and changes due to the death of Chadwick Boseman in August 2020. Marvel had big plans for Boseman, who played Black Panther in the MCU. And sadly, they had to pivot their concept for the sequel while still honoring its legacy.

When Ellen DeGeneres postulated that it must have been difficult for the Black Panther 2 cast to return to production without Boseman, Angela Bassett said, “It is. He was such an example, such a leader, an incredible talent. We all know that. Big heart, big intelligence. We just hope to raise the level.

Marvel chose not to recast the role of T'Challa. But they also haven't revealed who will be taking on the role of Black Panther in the sequel. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has leaked that Black Panther 2 would further explore the world of Wakanda and its people.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premieres exclusively in theaters on November 11, 2022.
